Art IS Interior Design

As I scroll through the wonderful images on Instagram of the interior design accounts I follow, they often leave me breathless with stunning clean lines, the feel, the decor, materials used and everything else required to make homes beautiful.. not forgetting of course the original structure of the architecture. And what pops into my head.. I can see my art gracing those walls.

Of course, all artists envisage their art in these super homes.. all artists, for the most part, love their art, and rightly so. We wouldn't be putting it out there for the world to judge if we ourselves didn't like it. But, when I see rooms with large white spaces, or industrial type styles with brick walls, my original vision of where I saw the business comes alive.

My designs started as i had white wall space that needed filling. And fill them I did, my front room housed a huge red & black piece that caused a sensation with the visitors, they loved it. And, as my bio reads, this is where Urban Fraggle Art began, although back then it was Animal Acrylic Art, and the business lasted about 2 months. It was just not my time!

Because of my interest in ultra modern I decided to have my own art printed on to acrylic.. not many people know what acrylic is.. so let me explain. Its a flexible perspex that gives a super contemporary look that most corporations are using, canvas, darling, is so last year! Again, why I chose acrylic all those years ago I couldn't tell you, but I did, and the finish is just superb.

Acrylic in itself is an expensive medium, heavy and not suitable for everyone, so as a business we choose to be flexible to suit the needs of our customers, but, I personally think my work lends itself so well to this medium that I would recommend it over canvas. Canvas swallows colour, acrylic makes it pop.

And.. drum roll please.. we will soon have Satans Ride printed on acrylic, and this I cannot wait to see!

So, ciao for now, and I expect my next blog will be to show you all the showstopper that is Satans Ride.
