Cat. Yes, really, a cat. I know you know its a cat, I'm just messing silly š.
Sometimes I feel the need to do something a little bit different with my creative style, and given I've never drawn a cat, I felt it was about time, especially as I have 3 of my own little rascals. I've drawn a tiger, does that count as a cat? Well of course, but what makes this different is I didn't use a photo for reference, so for that I'm due a couple of brownie points! He isn't fully finished, but, as I spent hours putting in some finishing touches, then making a boo boo that, coupled with my computer jumping all over the place as it had stuff going on in the background, out of frustration I closed without saving and pretty much had to start the finishing touches again! Grr or in this case a mini grr (meow meow š»).

This is how pussy cat started. The great thing about starting a piece and not having the intention of selling it, is, there is no pressure. And I had no intention of putting it on the website because, there are a zillion images similar to the one that I had in mind, and many that are superbly photo realistic. I admire the skill of photo realism, but it isn't something that personally excites me, so it isn't something I aim to achieve, I do however, like to paint/draw and expand on my skills away from photo enhancement. I could learn realism, to discover I'm not very good at it (why set myself up for a potential fail š). I choose to be free with my art, I've left myself to be free for incompleteness, untamed in its finished state. Wild as cats are.

I showed part 2
to a friend, she really liked it as it was at my second stage. I'd planned to only do one part of the face as for me, it always holds a tad more intrigue, but it was too bland for my liking, cute but bland. I did plan on completing all of one half of the face.. but after my hissy fit (hey, I'm only a human!) I decided that actually, it didn't need the rest of the face. And there I did a bit of background blending with.. ah red.. (you have no idea how much I wanted some burning reds and oranges in there š), and voila, finnito.
Here is a link to an insanely brilliant hyper realism painting of a cat- done on Photoshop. Absolutely superb! skillllls! Ive just noticed the likeness between this guys cat and my beginning stages.. I swear.. I have never seen this cat before, I had not watched this video until I had nearly completed my incomplete cat, no reference photos were harmed in the making of this art š¤

And just to finish off, a selfie with me and my Blu š

Okay, I wanted to show off my new blue highlights šø
