At Urban Fraggle Modern Equine Art we try to think outside of the box on new ways to show you the art. The weather has been superb so we took advantage of this and hopped to the stables to take some photos with Nancy. It made sense, given it's horse art, and she is well...a horse!

It's quite common place for art and artist to be featured together.. the new trend however, is to be scantily clad whilst sitting wistfully with the canvas and paintbrush. I, however, don't possess the photogenic glamour that is required to take these beautiful photos. Nor do I have the photographer (sorry Sushma), the hairstylist or makeup artist. I am in fact more like Celeste Barber, the Australian comedian, who ingeniously recreates photos of stunning models in her own creative way! Yup.. that's more me! Click here to see Celeste in action. Always makes me giggle!

But, what I lack in photogenic elegance (in fact elegance full stop!) I gain in a beautiful horse, beautiful art and a beautiful setting..

But, Let's Keep It Real

My vision of this..

Was more this...

Keeping real!

People have this pre-conceived idea that horsemanship is glamorous. In my world, it couldn't be further from that.

And Nancy, frankly, doesn't care about glam!

My days of posh rugs and boots are long gone. I used to be obsessed with dressing them in the best gear. But learns have taught me all this is unnecessary for them, and benefits my bank balance hugely. For a horse who rarely gets brushed and hasn't seen hot water for about 9 years, she looks pretty white and clean. Tra la, zero poo stains thankfully!! So, I'm sorry that our photos are not magazine standard, it's just me, a girl, her disinterested horse and an amateur photographer on an android phone 🤣.. enjoy!

Casually Chatting

After a conversation it was decided Nancy would much rather be in her stable relaxing and enjoying the sun. Her demand was my request. So I decided to dress her accordingly, and name her as such 😝

We had to make the most of sunshine as in the UK the weather is a little hit and miss. So I took the Diva back to her stable and carried on regardless.

Boo!

I hope you have found this a fun read. The intention of the event was fun, and who knows, one day I may have the make up artist and hair stylist, the pro photographer and the fancy magazine shoot. But until then you will have to make do with amateurs 😜
