New Horse Art

I was feeling super creative today. Yesterday I did a 10 minute sketch and today I stretched myself further and decided to take inspiration from a photograph which was in one of the groups I am in.

I was going to use the above image as a photo manipulation piece as I really like the angle of the horse (creating the work I do is not just about manipulating a photo, I have to 'feel' the image to 'feel' the mood I want to create. But no, I decided to paint it instead.

No Hyper Realism for Me

Hyper Realism art is superb, and the skill the artist has is second to non. But, its not something I would have on my wall. I'm more a lover of outstanding photography, if I was to have realism. So, i like to be a little more adventurous and create in my own style (hey, isn't that what artists do 😉).

I don't think what I have created above is super original. There are many paintings that are horses in the shadows, but, I am pleased with my end result.
